The Zdarzenia is a forum for a great variety of artistic
creations, allowing the use of every possible technique and original ideas,
and the only place in Poland for presenting even the most novel artistic
projects that would combine efforts of students and graduates of all kinds
of artistic schools from Poland and abroad.
We wish the Contest to become the forum for the avant-garde
experiments and presentations that will form the art trends of the 21st
century. In addition, we organise a separate painting contest.
The Zdarzenia Festival is organised by the PO-MOST Humanistic
Integration Society in Tczew in co-operation with the Tczew Municipal
Administration Office, and the Academy of Fine Arts in Gdansk.
The Festival is financed by the European Union funds,
the Polish Ministry of Culture, the Tczew Municipal Administration Office,
Polish and foreign foundations, and other sponsors.
We invite junior and senior year students, and young graduates
of all artistic academies in Poland and abroad to participate in our Contest.
The submitted artistic projects will be selected by our Jury, and the
finalists will be invited to the Festival held each year on the first
week-end of September in Tczew. Their presentations will comprise the
major part of the Festival and will be evaluated by the Jury, which will
name the Prize Winners. The Jury’s verdicts are final and irrevocable,
and, in matters of controversy, the decisive vote is reserved for the
organiser.
At each Festival edition the contestants compete to win
Grand Prize and three awards. The value of the prizes is determined on
a year-to-year basis. The organiser allows the sponsors to hand their
own special awards that have no influence on the number or the value of
the main prizes.
The Contestants may choose the following forms of presentation
along with all their possible variants:
Street action and installations,
Street or multimedia theatrical spectacle,
Musical spectacle (in a form of a performance),
Original projects of spectacle staging (a stage set to any dramatic or
visual piece),
Painting as an additional form.
The organisers welcome and encourage interdisciplinary co-operation of
academies representing different arts, that would harmoniously combine
artistic efforts of actors, musicians, and visual artists.
