In this performance by Pierluigi Pompei and Nicola Boccini, both member of the CLS (Ceramica Libera Sperimentale) group, the starting point is ceramics.

By research, Pompei and Boccini developed an innovative approach towards ceramic techniques and the use of ceramic artifacts.

Both artists share the passion for research and experiment and by this, draw the material beyond its boundaries , in an attempt to move its rigid borders in favor of free creativity.

Since years they make, with their original work, happenings and performances that unite different disciplines of art, like theatre, music and dance.

In this performance sound and light interact. The sound of a human voice is related to colour, interpreting several states of mind and emotions.

The aim is to give you a solid knowledge and technique.
Although there are many way to make a mold from a model, the important thing is to have the right approach and that means a good diagnosis of the model:
How all the pieces are going to be made and how they are going to be release.
This will give you a clear idea about which materials we need and above all, “how to do it”.

La Tecnica in breve
Il « Raku Nudo » è una tecnica di cottura ancestrale, originario del Giappone, il "Naked Raku" ne è una variazione. Dopo una prima cottura (biscotto) ad una temperatura circa 900°C (per lasciare i pori della terra ben aperti), il pezzo viene coperto da ingobbio e poi dallo smalto. Verrà cotto in un forno raku, il pezzo sarà trasportato delicatamente con una pinza dentro un recipiente contenente del materiale combustibile (segatura di legno, carta, etc). All'interno si svilupperà l'azione del fumo.

Il corso prevede un analisi completa di quasi tutte le tecniche raku, divisi

Decorazione su supporti forniti dalla scuola (ciotoline e cilindri), con
smalti, ossidi, carbonati, fritte e cristalline colorate, terre sigillate.
Formule per fare smalti iridescenti, le riduzioni e ossido riduzioni,
Il corso è aperto a principianti ed esperti che vogliono approfondire l'arte
delle tecniche di riduzione.

Sabato 17 giugno, in concomitanza con l’apertura ufficiale della Festa Internazionale della Ceramica di Montelupo, viene inaugurata Azione conCreta,una mostra dedicata a due artisti giovani, ma già conosciuti fra gli appassionati di ceramica contemporanea.
Techne Contemporanea Galleria d’Arte presenta, infatti, i lavori di Nicola Boccini e Lorenzo Giusto Acquaviva con una esposizione che durerà fino al 10 settembre 2006.
Il lavoro dei due artisti viene presentato dal critico Luciano Marziano, il cui contributo è pubblicato nel catalogo della mostra.

Programma: Tecnologia e composizione degli smalti partendo dalle materie prime (fritte, ossidi, cloruri, nitrati, carbonati, etc.). Realizzazione di manufatti in argilla rossa, porcellana (tenera), refrattario e terra pirofila. Prima cottura, decorazione con gli smalti composti durante il corso e seconda cottura. Tutti i manufatti saranno eseguiti con la speciale tecnica delle riduzioni interne in forni elettrici o a gas.
